Ewan McGregor is a Golden Globe-nominated Scottish actor who starred as Obi-Wan Kenobi in the Star Wars prequel trilogy and as "Carlo Ventresca" in Angels and Demons. He has also appeared in such films as Trainspotting and Big Fish.
McGregor is married to French Production Designer Eve Mavrakis, whom he has two daughters with. In 2006 the couple adopted a Mongolian girl named Jamiyan. An avid Motorcyclist and Adventurist, McGregor rode from London to New York going through central Europe, Ukraine, Russia and Scotland to Cape Town, South Africa. Life and Career
Shortly before graduating with a degree in drama from the Guildhall School of Music and Drama, McGregor landed a role in the BBC series Lipstick on Your Collar, for which Ewan left his studies. He received steady work after this first break, but his big entrance into the world of film came when he starred in Danny Boyle's 1996 film Trainspotting.Following the critical success of Trainspotting, McGregor began appearing in Hollywood as a leading man in such films as Moulin Rouge and Down with Love. Hollywood further thrust him into the spotlight when he took on the role of Obi-Wan Kenobi in George Lucas' Star Wars prequel trilogy.
Other films Ewan McGregor have starred in include Woody Allen's film Cassandra's Dream and opposite Daniel Craig in I, Lucifer. His most recent major film was Angels and Demon, playing the role of Carlo Ventresca, caretaker of the Vatican.
