The expansion continues the storyline of happenings in the world of Norath as adventurers find themselves in more escapades within this fantasy realm. In ages past the sentinel Roehn Theer was the god whose task it was to keep the balance of life upon Norath and across the universe. EverQuest II: Sentinels Fate is not bringing any new race in the game, therefore the players will have to choose from the races that are available in the first game: Dwarf, Fae, Froglok, Halfling, High Elf, and Wood Elf. Those races are available if you play with the good side (also known as: Qeynos, Kelethin). If you join the dark side, you can select from: Arasai, Dark Elf, Iksar, Ogre, Ratonga, Sarnak, and Troll. The Neutral races which can start in either good or evil cities are "Barbarian", Erudite", "Gnome", "Halfelf", "Human", and "Kerra."

As you start the game, your character is placed in different zones, depending on his race. Several tutorial quests must be accomplished in order to familiarize the players with the controls and the interface of the game. As soon as the basic training is finished your character can venture into the world where the real adventure begins.

5. The third adventure pack was The Fallen Dynasty, released on June 14, 2006.
6. Five months later another expansion was released: Echoes of Faydwer, on November 14, 2006
7. One year later, on November 13, 2007, the 4th expansion was released: Rise of Kunark.

After 6 years, and 8 add-ons released, EverQuest II received another expansion: EverQuest II: Sentinels Fate. Sony Online Entertainment made no official statement that they will release another episode for this saga.
