The Everett Silvertips are a major junior hockey team in the U.S. Division of the Western Hockey League (WHL). The Silvertips celebrated their inaugural 2003-04 season by making a strong playoff run, winning the Western Conference Championship to advance to the WHL Championship against the Medicine Hat Tigers. 2009-10 Season
The Everett Silvertips ended the 2009-10 season in second place in the U.S. Division, just behind the Tri-City Americans. Center Shane Harper led the Silvertips in points and goals on the season with 80 points and 42 goals. Harper's 38 assists were good enough to tie center Chris Langkow for second on the team behind right winger Kellen Tochkin, who had 40 assists. In the net, Thomas Heemskerk played in 42 games for the Silvertips, posting a 24-12-4 record and a 2.34 goals against average. NHL Players That Played for Everett
Since joining the WHL as an expansion team during the 2003-04 season, the Silvertips have developed a handful of players that have been drafted by National Hockey League (NHL) teams, including center Peter Mueller, who plays for the Colorado Avalanche. Mueller is the only player on an NHL roster, but several former Silvertips are playing in the minors or similar affiliates waiting to be called up. Three players for the Silvertips were drafted by NHL teams in the 2010 Entry Draft. Goaltender Kent Simpson was selected in the second round, number 58 overall, by the Chicago Blackhawks, while Radko Gudas was drafted by the Tampa Bay Lightning in the third round, 66 overall.
