Everclear is a American alternative rock music group that was formed in Portland, Oregon. After signing to
Capitol Records in 1994, they released their major label debut the following year.
Sparkle and Fade stormed into the alternative music scene with the popular single "Santa Monica." Though the follow up,
So Much for the Afterglow, was slow to start, the single "Father of Mine" made it another hit. The band's subsequent releases were met with sporadic success, and bassist Craig Montoya and drummer Greg Eklund decided to leave the band. Lead singer Art Alexakis recruited new musicians to keep Everclear alive, releasing
Welcome To the Drama Club in 2006.
