• Evanescence is a popular alternative rock/metal band whose sound mixes elements of classical, goth and hard rock music. The band was founded by lead singer Amy Lee and Ben Moody in Little Rock, Arkansas, in 1998.

• Career

  After signing with Wind-up Records, they released their first major label album, Fallen, in 2003. Fallen sold more than 15 million copies worldwide and the band won two Grammy Awards.

  A year later, in 2004 Evanescence released thier first live album which sold more than one million copies, "Anywhere but Home".

  In 2006, Evanescence (with new band member Terry Balsamo) released their 2nd studio album, "The Open Door" TOD sold more than five million records world wide.

  After finishing touring for TOD, the band went on hiatus, during which Amy Lee recorded "Sally's Song" for the anniversary soundtrack of "The Nightmare before Christmas" She also took harp lessons which can be heard on "Sally's Song"

  Currently the band is working on their 3rd studio album hopefully to be released in 2010.

  Hey everybody! Just checkin in.

  There’s been a lot of writing going on this summer and I’m starting to get really excited. My good friend Will happens to also be a great producer, writer and programmer (lucky for me!) and we’ve been slaving away at some pretty interesting stuff lately… I’m not giving anything away just yet. Terry and I have been working together this week at my place just like old times and life is pretty good. I have a little surprise for you that I can’t spill just yet, but its coming soon and I can’t wait. I will let you know as soon as I’m allowed to!
