  • Evander "The Real Deal" Holyfield is a former heavyweight boxing champion.

    On December 20, 2008, Holyfield lost a fight to one of the current heavyweight champions of the world, Nikolai Valuev. Holyfield at the age of 46 was hoping to become the oldest person ever to win a heavyweight championship belt. Valuev won a majority decision over Holyfield.     Evander Holyfield first garnered national attention by winning a bronze medal at the 1984 olympics in the Light Heavyweight division. Shortly after the olympics Holyfield turned pro. He won his first title in the Cruiserweight division. Holyfield later moved up to the heavyweight division. He won his first heavyweight title by defeating heavyweight champion [[James "Buster" Douglas]].

    Holyfield went on to earned notable victories in the heavyweight division over some of the biggest names in the sport including George Foreman, Larry Holmes, Riddick Bowe and Michael Moorer.

    Perhaps his most notable victories were against heavyweight legend Mike Tyson. Holyfield beat the former champion twice. In a memorable incident on June 28, 1997, Holyfield frustrated Tyson to the point that Tyson bit a piece of Holyfield's ear off.
