Actress Eva Mendes reportedly checked herself into the Utah Cirque Lodge rehab facility in January of 2008 with the explanation that she needed to attend to some "personal issues."
It was recently reported that the reason Mendes may have checked into rehab was to do research for her upcoming role in the film Queen of the South. In the film, Mendes plays the part of Spanish drug lord "Teresa Mendoza" who flees to Spain after the murder of her drug-runner boyfriend.
Playing alongside Mendez in the film are actors Josh Harnett and Ben Kingsley. The movie is currently awaiting release.
