  • Blues singer and songwriter Etta James rocketed to stardom in the 1960s with what became her signature ballad, "At Last". Her successful career has spanned five decades. She has won four Grammy Awards, and has been inducted into several Halls of Fame. Her tumultuous life and successful career helped make James one of the most respected female blues singers in history.

    On April 7, 2009, James sang her hit single "At Last" on Dancing with the Stars while Maksim Chmerkovskiy and Karina Smirnoff performed on the dance floor.

    During a concert at the Paramount Theater in Seattle, Washington, in January 2009, Etta James took issue with Beyonce Knowles' performance of her hit song "At Last" during the first of several inaugural balls for President Barack Obama. Knowles serenaded Obama and first lady Michelle Obama at the Neighborhood Ball.
