Although Etro is a famous high fashion brand for men and women, Etro did not begin by designing clothing. In fact, Etro’s fashion line did not come into existence almost two decades after the establishment of the company.
Etro was established by Gimmo Etro in 1968 as a fine fabric company. Etro’s signature design was the Paisley motif, which became the company’s masterpiece and symbol of the brand. Etro then expanded their products to men and women accessories which still retained their respect for fine fabric and unique design. Etro soon began to produce home décor products, focusing on using the best fabric to get the best design.
Etro’s clothing line was released in the nineties, and soon become successful like the brand’s other products. Today, Etro expands their products to Eyewear, Fragrances, Home décor, Handbags, and Shoes. Even though Etro has expands their business to many products, Etro still maintain their lustrous and unique fabrics.
Etro’s company is still owned by the Etro’s family, with the children of Gimmo Etro in charge of the design and the managerial aspect of the company.

All Etro’s designers comes from Etro family. Veronica Etro is in charge of womenswear while Kean Etro designs menswear. Their brother, Jacopo Etro runs the textiles and accessories division.
