People Magazine reported on May 18, 2009, that Zohn was diagnosed with Stage 2 Hodgkin's disease and has a rare form called CD20-positive Hodgkin's Lymphoma. He began chemotherapy treatments in mid May of 2009 and has a high rate of survival, perhaps as high as 90 percent. Zohn lost his father to colon cancer when Zohn was only 14 years old. Zohn made this statement about his diagnosis, "This is happening for a reason. I know I want to help people and inspire people. That's my purpose in life.
