Canadian professional hockey player Ethan Moreau plays for the Edmonton Oilers of the National Hockey League. Moreau has served as captain of the Oilers since 2007.
NHL Career
Moreau was drafted 14th overall in the 1994 NHL draft by the Chicago Blackhawks. He joined the Blackhawks Ontario Hockey League affiliate, the Sudbury Wolves in 1995, then made his NHL debut with the Blackhawks later that year. He continued with the Blackhawks until March 20, 1999, when they sent him to the Edmonton Oilers. During the 2004-05 NHL lockout, Moreau played 16 games with the EC Villacher SV in Austria. He returned to the Oilers after the lockout and signed a four-year contract with the franchise in 2006.
