Ethan Kaplan

Ethan Kaplan is the Vice President of Technology at Warner Bros. Records with a focus on new media technology. His persona as a young, technologically-savvy music executive is still oxymoronic in an industry that has become famous for fighting unauthorized duplication of its content. He speaks frequently at conferences of the importance of blending the new technologies with the existing record label infrastructure and reaching a new system of distributing music.

He created the R.E.M. site Murmurs.com in 1996 at the age of 16. It was the first website devoted entirely to REM, and Kaplan still posts on this site.
