Life and Career
Esther Dyson was born in Zurich, Switzerland. She earned a degree in economics from Harvard University and then went on to join Forbes, where she served as a reporter. In 1983 she bought Rosen Research and renamed it EDVenture Holdings. She sold this company to CNET in 2004 and then left CNET in 2007.
She is also an early investor or board member of several tech companies, including del.icio.us and Flickr. She is also a board member or trustee of a number of philanthropic organizations.
