  • Ervin Santana is a professional athlete in Major League Baseball. He is currently a player for the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim. Ervin's nickname is "El Meneo" which affectionately means "the shaker".

    Santana originally signed with the then named Anaheim Angels on September 2, 2000. The following season he joined the Angels' minor league affiliates for his first few years of conditioning.

    On May 17, 2005, Santana was called up to make his MLB debut with the Angels. He started a total of 23 games his rookie season, pitching 133.7 innings and finishing with a 4.65 ERA. He also made his first post season appearance in 2005, when the Angels ended their playoff run against the Chicago White Sox in the American League Championship Season. He spent the entire 2006 season with the Angels, playing in 33 games and improving his ERA to 4.28.

    Santana started the 2007 season with the Angels, but was again sent to the minors after a poor start to the season. He returned to the Angels in August 2007, overall playing 28 during the season, finishing with a 5.76 ERA.
