Eriq La Salle is an American actor, director and producer who starred for 8 years as Dr. Peter Benson on the Emmy Award-winning television show E.R.. Eriq La Salle began his career in New York City, appearing on Broadway in Death and the King, and in such films as Coming to America and Jacob's Ladder. He had consistent work on the CBS soap opera One Life to Live as well, but eventually moved to Los Angeles, where he landed a role on E.R.NBC.com: Eriq La Salle Biography La Salle's extensive resume also includes appearances in the television shows A Different World, Quantum Leap and The Twilight Zone as well as the films Color of Night and One Hour Photo.
