TMZ reported on April 2, 2010 that Erin Andrews has recently been the target of multiple death threats.http://www.tmz.com/2010/04/02/erin-andrews-death-threats-dancing-with-the-stars-fbi-dan-patrick-threats-/ The threats were sent via email to a radio show. There apparently were three different emails, each of them sent to the radio show The Dan Patrick Show. The The Dan Patrick Show is broadcast on both radio and television stations. The show itself is a sports talk show, covering current topics within the sports world.
The unnamed sources that provided the information about this incident to TMZ further told the celebrity news and gossip site that the emails were sent on the dates of March 26th, 29th, and 30th.http://www.tmz.com/2010/04/02/erin-andrews-death-threats-dancing-with-the-stars-fbi-dan-patrick-threats-/ The man who is alleged to have sent the email threats to the station reportedly resides in Newport News, Virginia.
Emailed Threats
The threats were sent to the radio show via email. Each of these emails apparently contained explicit and direct threats toward Andrews. For example, one of the emails reportedly read "Somebody should shoot her in the face"http://www.tmz.com/2010/04/02/erin-andrews-death-threats-dancing-with-the-stars-fbi-dan-patrick-threats-/. Another one of the messages—apparently discussing the chance of the suspect being found—read, "I'm one in a million. She'll never see me coming".http://www.tmz.com/2010/04/02/erin-andrews-death-threats-dancing-with-the-stars-fbi-dan-patrick-threats-/
FBI Investigation Underway
The Federal Bureau of Investigation has reportedly been contacted about the incident. The FBI has already begun investigating the case. Due to these recent threats, Andrews—who is currently a contestant on the popular show Dancing With The Stars—will apparently receive increased security while she is on the set of the show.
Previous "Peephole" Incident
Several months prior to received these three emailed threats, Andrews was in the news after being video taped through her hotel room peephole. The video of her posing in front of the mirror, brushing her hair was eventually posted onto the internet. In the video she can be seen completely naked as she dries her hair with a hairdryer after having taken a shower. The video clip did not contain any audio, however.
The man who was convicted of filming her, Michael David Barrett, was later tried and convicted for the offense. He was ultimately sentenced to 30 months' worth of federal prison time.http://www.tmz.com/2010/04/02/erin-andrews-death-threats-dancing-with-the-stars-fbi-dan-patrick-threats-/
