  • NHL Career

    Christensen was drafted 69th overall in the 2002 NHL Draft by the Pittsburgh Penguins. He split the 2002-03 season between the Kamloops Blazers and the Brandon Wheat Kings in the Western Hockey League. In 2004, Christensen was assigned to the Wilkes-Barre Scranton Penguins, a Pittsburgh Penguins American Hockey League affiliate. He made his NHL debut in the 2005-06 season with the Penguins, playing in 33 games. Christensen played another year and a half in Pittsburgh, then was traded to the Atlanta Thrashers on February 26, 2008.

    In 2003, Christensen was awarded the Bob Clarke Trophy for leading the Western Hockey League in scoring.
