  • Not a Jet Pack

    Despite the fact that the apparatus was developed by a company name Jet Pack International, Scientific American noted that Scott was not wearing a jet pack during his record breaking flight. In a November 25, 2008, article, Scientific American blogger Larry Greenemeier explained that Scott's pack was fueled by superheated steam produced by a chemical reaction.
