New York State real estate agent Eric Olsen claims to be the man who removed the "dead monster" in Montauk, New York, from the beach where it was photographed in July 2008.
The dead creature inspired mass speculation concerning its identity and origin when it was photographed by Jenna Hewitt and posted on the Internet. Olsen claims that he took the creature to his friend Noel Arikian's house where they planned to strip the carcass. Olsen now believes that the creature was kidnapped.
