Eric Lindell is a singer-songwriter from San Mateo, California. He grew up as a self described "skater punk" in California's bay area.
Career
Eric Lindell began playing in bands at age 15 and lists Fishbone and Black Flag as his influences. Lindell started playing in bars, first as a guitarist then as a bassist, while working as a baker to make ends meet.
After a brief stay in New York City he moved to New Orleans, Louisiana in 1999. After moving to New Orleans his creativity flourished and it is highly demonstrated in his work. He has performed with many legends while residing in New Orleans including Stanton Moore, and Neville.
By 2005 his popularity on the New Orleans blues scene became so prominent that he gained the attention of Branford Marsalis, The Neville Brothers and John Scofield who often attended his shows. He also grabbed the attention of Alligator Records who signed him to a contract in 2006.
Since the release of his debut album Change in The Weather, Eric has received nothing but praise from critics and fans alike for his combination of swamp pop, R&B and blues.
In October of 2007 Lindell performed on the legendary Rhythm and Blues Cruise. He was included in a line up consisting of blues legends Elvin Bishop, Bobby Rush, Lowrider Band and Johnny Lee Hooker Jr. He is currently touring in support of his newest release Low on Cash, Rich in Love.
