Eric Dane is an American actor best known for his role as Dr. Mark Sloan on Grey's Anatomy.

After appearing in a high school production of Arthur Miller's All My Sons, Dane decided to pursue a career in acting. Dane made his television debut in 1993 on The Wonder Years.CNN: Eric Dane: Acting for Real (April 9, 2001)

On February 6, 2008, OK! Magazine reported that Dane was diagnosed with skin cancer and was recovering after having malignant tissue removed from his lip.
