  • Born Hans Jorg Gudegast, Eric Braeden was born April 3, 1941 in Kiel, Germany. He grew up in Germany but in 1959 he immigrated to the United States. He remains proud of his German roots and in fact holds dual citizenship in both countries.

    Eric Braeden is known for his role as Victor Newman in the CBS soap opera The Young and the Restless. He is considered a senior cast member since he has played this role since 1980.
