  • NHL Career

    Belanger was drafted 96th overall in the fourth round of the 1996 NHL Draft by the Los Angeles Kings. Following the draft, he played in the American Hockey League for three seasons, with the Fredericton Canadiens, Springfield Falcons and Lowell Lock Monsters. Belanger made his NHL debut with the Kings in 2000 and played a total of five seasons with the Kings. On September 29, 2006, he was traded to the Carolina Hurricanes. He spent just five months with the Hurricanes before he was traded to the Nashville Predators on February 9, 2007. The very next day, the Predators traded Belanger to the Atlanta Thrashers, where he completed the 2006-07 season. On July 3, 2007, Belanger signed as a free agent with the Minnesota Wild.
