Eric Allen Kirkpatrick allegedly shot and killed his former employer Benjamin David Banky at the company's Christmas party on Friday, December 12, 2008.CTV.ca: Police Allege Sacked Employee Killed His Former Boss (December 15, 2008) Kirkpatrick was fired by TallGrass Distribution, a Vancouver based natural health food company, on December 11, 2008.
Benjamin David Banky co-founded TallGrass Distribution in 1996, with Matthew Breech. He was married and did not have children. Banky's brother, a police officer, died in 2008. He was close with his young niece. Banky, who was 40 years old when he was shot, reportedly fired Kirkpatrick because he received complaints that man had been violent with another employee.
