Erase Errata is an experimental post-punk band from San Francisco that formed in 1999. Their music features complex rhythms and dissonant melodies typically unconventional to rock, and occasionally includes instruments like the trumpet. They are also well-known for their improvisational skills, as both their live performances and recorded music is often communicate spontaneous thoughts, words, or feelings.
Boys and Girls
The band was originally all female. But after their founding guitarist Sara Jaffe left in 2004, a male vocalist named Archie McKay joined the group. Much of the fanbase was opposed to the change, and the band returned to a three-girl lineup soon afterwards.
