The game tells the story of Mickey Mouse, who accidentally destroys a fantasy world created by the sorcerer Yen Sid. The sorcerer’s world was built as a shelter for "things that have been forgotten" (many of these things being Disney's animation characters). Pushed by his curiosity, Mickey Mouse accidentally spills paint on Sid’s drawings and manages to create a world of chaos known as The Wastelands. Mickey’s task is to use a magic mirror to travel to this new place and re-create Sid’s world.http://epicmickey.wikia.com/wiki/Epic_Mickey_Wiki
Epic Mickey Locations Detailed
The locations available in Epic Mickey can be divided into three types based on what they offer to players.
The Hub Worlds are in-game places where Mickey can travel to pick up new quests and to interact with non-playing characters. The game features 6 Hub Worlds: Adventure Land, Bog Easy, Gremlin Village, Mean Street, Ostown and Tomorrow City. The player can also visit these locations to buy additional items for his character.http://epicmickey.wikia.com/wiki/Category:Hub-Worlds
After picking a quest, Mickey Mouse has to travel to an Action World. There are 4 Action Worlds in the game and these are the only places where the player can complete his quests. In no particular order, the worlds are: Lonesome Manor, Skull Island, Tortooga, Dark Beauty Castle and Lonesome Manor.http://epicmickey.wikia.com/wiki/Category:Mission_Worlds
When Mickey must travel between a Hub World and an Action World he must use the film reels. In the game, the reels are also known as Travel Worlds and are based on Disney’s cartoon movies. Epic Mickey offers 4 Travel Worlds: Clock Cleaners, Oh What a Knight, Plutopia and Steamboat Willie.http://epicmickey.wikia.com/wiki/Category:Film_Reels
