The action in Enslaved: Odyssey to the West takes place in a post-apocalyptic world, in the future. Few people remained alive after the war destroyed the entire planet. The main character of the game is Trip a young woman who succeeds to escape due to her mental powers. The secondary character is Monkey a warrior who also escaped but through force. Trip realizes that the only chance to get back home is to have Monkey on her side.
