Encounters at the End of the World is a 2007 documentary from director Werner Herzog about the Antarctic community of McMurdo Station. The movie follows Herzog as he interviews the station's colorful characters and tries to uncover what is beyond Antarctica's Ross Island.
The film garnered a Best Documentary Feature Oscar nomination in 2009, but the award went to Man on Wire.
