  • The Emperors Club VIP was a high-end prostitution ring broken by authorities investigating former New York Governor Eliot Spitzer's financial transactions. Shortly before noon on March 12, 2008, Spitzer announced his resignation effective the following Monday. Later in the day, the prostitute whom Spitzer spent time with, previously known by the professional name of "Kristen," was identified as Ashley Alexandra Dupre.
  • Investigation

The investigation began in the summer of 2007, culminating with the arrest of four individuals involved with running the Emperors Club, and the revelation that Spitzer was a client of the organization. The operators of the Emperors Club VIP were charged with money laundering and running an online international prostitution ring. According to government documents, the company had issues finding enough prostitutes to satisfy demand and getting clients to pay their bills on time.
