30 Rock star Alec Baldwin won the 2008 Emmy for Best Actor in a Comedy at the 2008 Emmys on September 21, 2008. It was Baldwin's first-ever Emmy win.
The others nominees included actors from Two and a Half Men, Pushing Daisies, The Office and the USA network program (and perennial Emmy favorite) Monk. Tony Shalhoub had previously won three awards for his role as a obsessive compulsive, social challenged detective Adrian Monk.
