Blank Emmy Awards ballots are commonly available from a variety of websites across the Internet. These can be downloaded and printed for use at home or at parties, with guests or participants making their predictions as to which actor or television show will take home the Emmy statue.
Counting Emmy Ballots
Ernst & Young LLP is the accounting firm in charge of counting the thousands of votes which are cast for the Emmy Awards. The accounting firm accepts votes up until a deadline date and time and then begins the official count and preparation of the sealed envelops. Actress. Andy Sale, the lead partner in charge of the Emmy ballot counting for the accounting firm says the final vote this year was turned in by veteran actress Jody Carter. Carter always hand delivers her ballot to the firm to be sure it is received.http://latimesblogs.latimes.com/showtracker/2010/08/emmy-votes-are-in-and-now-its-time-to-start-counting.html Between the nomination and the final round, approximately 20,000 Emmy ballots are cast to be counted by the firm. Emmy ballot counters don't have a means to sway the votes one way or the other as the ballots are coded with just a few Ernst & Young executives having access to the code. Ballots are scanned, then hand counted. Voters choose their selection for winner and then rank the remaining nominees in order of preference. The ranking allows a tie to be broken.http://www.charlotteobserver.com/2010/08/26/1645214/and-the-emmy-for-best-vote-counter.html#ixzz0ynLHmy7D
