The Emmy Awards, commonly referred to as the "Emmys," are an American television production award. Many consider the Emmys to be the television equivalent of the Oscars. In addition to the better known Primetime and Daytime Emmys, the organization presents Sports Emmys, Technology & Engineering Emmys, Regional Emmys and International Emmys. They also present a number of special awards, including the Lifetime Achievement Award, the Bob Hope Humanitarian Award, and the Governor's Award.
