The Academy of Television Arts and Sciences was found in 1946 and the first Emmy Award ceremony was on January 25, 1949. Emmy Award Statue

  • The Emmy Award statue was designed by Louis McManus and his wife, Dorothy, was the model. The statue's winged golden girl holds up the universal symbol of the electron.
