Emmet Otter's Jug Band Christmas is a 1977 television special from Jim Henson about a young otter who gets his jug band to join a talent contest in order to buy his mother a nice Christmas gift.
Riverboat Nightmare Band
Emmet Otter's Jug-Band Christmas was based on a 1971 illustrated storybook by Russell Hoban. Jim Henson's production broadened the original story to include seven songs written specifically for the film by Paul Williams. The 1977 television special had an early satire of the burgeoning heavy metal music trend, as the jug band faces off against the mischievous-looking Riverboat Nightmare Band at the story's climax.
