Emma Thompson is a British an Academy Award winning actress and writer. She has appeared in a variety of films, including the period pieces Sense and Sensibility and Brideshead Revisited, contemporary films such as Love Actually and Last Chance Harvey as well as several Harry Potter films.

Career Summary
- Thompson's career began with appearances on several British television shows such as There's Nothing to Worry Abbout!, Tutti Frutti and Thompson. She made her feature film debut in the Jeff Goldblum vehicle The Tall Guy. Thompson followed that up with her then-husband's, Kenneth Branagh, film adaptation of the William Shakespeare play, Henry V. In 1992, Thompson received her first Academy Award for her role in Howard's End . She has another Academy Award for writing the screen adaptation Sense and Sensibility.
