Emile Hirsch is an American actor who made his film debut in The Dangerous Lives of Alter Boys alongside Kieran Culkin and Jodie Foster. In 2004, Hirsch starred in The Girl Next Door with Elisha Cuthbert and Timothy Olyphant, in which he played a kid who falls in love with a porn star who moves in next door to him. In 2005, Hirsch portrayed the famous skateboarder Jay Adams in Lords of Dogtown and also portrayed a drug dealer in Alpha Dog.
In 2007, Hirsch took on the role of Christopher McCandless for Sean Penn's film Into the Wild, and was critically acclaimed for his performance.
In 2008, Hirsch landed the lead role in the film adaptation of Speed Racer, which was directed by The Wachowski Brothers, and stars Christina Ricci, Matthew Fox, John Goodman and Susan Sarandon.
