Emerson, Lake & Palmer

  • Emerson, Lake & Palmer (sometimes referred to as "ELP") is a progressive classic rock band comprised of Keith Emerson (keyboard), former King Crimson member Greg Lake (guitar/bass/vocals), and Carl Palmer (drums). From their first album they were a hit, and soon they began to fill arenas for their concerts. As their sound developed, their recordings involved intricate arrangements, multiple overdubs, and sprawling song lengths. By the late '70s they had sold millions of albums but burned themselves out musically. They broke up in 1978. In 1992, ELP reformed, recorded and toured again until 1998.
