Emergency Mayhem is a mission based driving game for the Nintendo Wii. It was developed and published by Codemasters. With mission based driving and open environment gameplay, the game has a lot of similarities to Crazy Taxi, and in some part to the Grand Theft Auto series of video games. Although the game was made entirely by Codemasters, the games rights are owned by Warner Brothers. The game debuted four years ago at E3 and was originally slated to be released on the PlayStation 2 and the Xbox. Those plans were later scrapped and the game almost never surfaced.
Story
At the heart of Emergency Mayhem it is for all purposes an arcade style game with a light emphasis on it's career mode. The game takes place in the fictionial town of Crisis City. It is your job to help hippiess swallowing nails, disarming phone booths rigged with explosives, and even delivering donuts to fellow police officers.
Gameplay
Emergency Heroes is an arcade game with many party style features. In the game you control three different emergency services(Fire, Police, and Emergency Medical Services). It sports eight different environments to play in. The game has a lot of similarities to Ubisoft's Emergency Heroes. The games pick up and play make the game even more attractive to the casual gamer. Emergency Mayhem features mini-games as well as mission based driving. Mini-games include but are not limited to CPR, disarming bombs, and herding escaped penquins. With the combination of mini-games and mission based driving, the game is a cross between Crazy Taxi and WarioWare: Smooth Moves. Even with the driving element, most of the game focuses on mini-games.
