Hobbs entered the 2010 season with the Eagles as a backup cornerback as well as one of the team's kickoff returners. In the season, Hobbs returned 16 kickoffs for an average of 21.6 yards per return. On September 9, 2007, in a game against the New York Jets, Hobbs broke the NFL record for the longest kickoff return. Previously the record had been held by Tony Dorsett at 99 and a half yards. However, on this date, Hobbs returned a kickoff 108 yards down the field - from inside one end zone to the other. Hobbs scored his first career touchdown on a kickoff return in 2006, during a game against the Houston Texans. In 2007, Hobbs intercepted two passes in the Patriots' run to the Super Bowl. Hobbs' shook off a couple of tackles before he was hit by four different Giant players. The last hit knocked Hobbs to the ground and caused him to fumble the ball.
