Elle Magazine is worldwide and centers on women and their fashion, beauty and health along with other issues woman deal with on a daily basis. Pierre Lazareff and Hélène Gordon his wife founded the magazine in 1945 in France. Daniel Filipacchi and Jean-Luc Lagardère bought out Hachette Magazines in 1981, changing the name to Hachette Filipacchi Media or HFM. Today HFM reports that Elle is the largest fashion magazine in the world with forty two editions going to over sixty countries, and a reader’s base of twenty three million.
