Career
Elizabeth Taylor's film career has spanned decades. From her film debut in 1942 in There's One Born Every Minute, to being signed for an eighteen year contract with MGM producer Sam Marx. During that time, Taylor starred in the 1944 film National Velvet alongside Angela Lansbury, and garnered herself national attention. Soon after she starred alongside Montgomery Clift in A Place in the Sun and in the 1957 film Raintree Country. It was her roles as Gloria Wandrous in Butterfield 8 and Martha in Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf? that would garner Taylor Best Actress Oscars.
