Elizabeth Smart

Smart's accused abductors are Brian David Mitchell, a middle-aged man with a rare delusional condition, and his wife, Wanda Barzee. In 2009, Smart traveled to Paris, France to become a missionary for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. A man calling himself "Emmanuel" had done some handy-man work for the Smarts. A sketch from the family's memory was done and shared on America's Most Wanted and Larry King Live of Elizabeth Smart's abductor. Family members recognized the man in the sketch and contacted authorities with Emmanuel's real name, which turned out to be her abductor, Brian David Mitchell.
