• Breast Cancer

  On November 3, 2004, Elizabeth Edwards was diagnosed with breast cancer. She was treated and in November of 2006 told by her doctor, Dr. Lisa Carey, the her cancer was gone. • Career and Writings

  She retired from her law career in 1996 after the death of her son. She has taught legal writing at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and filled in as a substitute teacher for Wake County public schools.
