The Elimination Chamber is a structure used in WWE professional wrestling matches. The Chamber is a large, circular steel cage made up of chains and girders.
The Rules
Elimination Chamber matches are single-elimination contests that feature six wrestlers: two start in the ring, and the other four stand in enclosed "bulletproof" plexiglass pods at each ring corner. At undetermined timed intervals (usually three to five minutes), a pod randomly opens, allowing a new wrestler to enter the fray. This continues until all four have been released.
Wrestlers are eliminated only by pinfall or submission, and the final wrestler left after the other five have been eliminated is the winner. Because there are no disqualifications, wrestlers often use the chamber as a weapon, climbing the chain links to execute aerial moves, or even throwing opponents into the breakable plexiglass pods.
