  • Eliezer Marquez Navedo was convicted of the February 3, 2009, murder of Sara Kuszak of Savannah, Georgia, while she was vacationing in Puerto Rico.

    Kuszak was in Puerto Rico with her fiance and friends in February of 2009 and went out for a jog. Marquez reportedly kidnapped her during the jog and locked her in the trunk of his car. Kuszak was able to phone her fiance, Cheshire McIntosh, letting him know what had happened.

    Kuszak's body was found in a field with her throat slashed less than an hour after the abduction. The 36-year-old Marquez was arrested by FBI agents after they traced Kuszak's cell phone signal to him.
