Elephant Attack

An elephant attacked a group of 200 people gathered outside of the Koodalmanikya Temple in India. Two men and a woman were trampled to death during the two-hour rampage. One of the men killed was the elephant's trainer.

The elephant was being featured in a ceremonial procession when the attack began, with the animal goring a man to death. He then broke an iron gate, destroyed the temple's theater and tower, and charged through the crowd. The trainer was trying to get the massive animal under control when he was killed.
