Electric Six

Categories: Entertainment
  • Electric Six are an American indie rock band that emerged from Detroit in 1996, under the moniker The Wild Bunch. While the band's contemporaries in the Detroit rock scene of the early 2000s—such as The White Stripes and The Dirtbombs—mined 1960s garage rock and R&B for inspiration, Electric Six debuted with a more eclectic sound: a hybrid of 1970s rock, metal, and disco, with the kitschy, party-ready spirit of the B-52s. As of 2008, Dick Valentine, the band's primary songwriter and lead vocalist, was the only remaining original member.
