The action in the game takes place 200 years after the events presented in The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion, somewhere in the northern part of Tamriel, in a province named Skyrim. After the king of Skyrim died, the province remained without a ruler and a civil war started between those who desired for the Skyrim province to respect the alliance with the Empire, and those who wanted for the Skyrim province to become independent.http://www.elderscrolls.com/
The war lasted for years, until the Nordic God Alduin took the form of a dragon and decided to consume the Skyrim province and the entire Tamriel continent. Assuming the role of a Dovahkiin, the player will start an epic adventure in Skyrim, with the final goal of defeating Alduin and restoring the peace in the province.
