El Cantante is a 2007 film based on the true life story of Puerto Rican salsa singer Hector Lavoe. The film stars the husband and wife pair of Marc Anthony and Jennifer Lopez.
Plot Overview
EL Cantante chronicles the life and struggles of Hector Lavoe, who is played by latin Singer Marc Anthony. The role of his wife Puchi is played by Jennifer Lopez. The story is told from Puchi's point of view as she looks back on the rise and fall of the somewhat self destructive singer and his problems with drugs, alcohol, and depression.
