The pairing mechanism for the site, the Compatibility Matching System®, is also known as the 29 Dimensions® of Compatibility. The public face of eHarmony, Dr. Neil Clark Warren, developed the 29 Dimensions model after three years of research and development. Warren is a psychologist with over three decades of experience giving counseling to married couples. He is currently Chairman of the Board at eHarmony.

According to a 2009 U.S. survey, eHarmony's matching services have resulted in, on average, 542 eHarmony members getting married per day. This is almost 5% of all marriages in America.c

eHarmony's site also features eH Advice, a community-oriented section offering dating and relationship advice, date ideas, and more.c

The company offers a separate service for same-sex couples on a site called Compatible Partners.c This site was launched in 2009.c In 2005, Eric McKinley of New Jersey spurred the creation of this website when he filed an official complaint. After signing up for eHarmony, he was dissatisfied about the site's lack of any same-sex couple services.
